Pataskala, Ohio Master Bathroom Video Review

We recently completed a Master Bathroom Renovation in Pataskala Ohio.  The video below highlights a series of video footage, photographic stills, before pictures, finished pictures, as well as thoughts from our Client about their experience in working with us.

Columbus Ohio Bathroom Remodeling | Slideshow

Recently I assembled a random collection of pictures from many different projects we have completed over the past few years.  These bathrooms are scattered throughout Central Ohio – Hilliard, Reynoldsburg, Worthington, Powell, Columbus, Clintonville, and Bexley, to name a few.  I put these into a video (below) simply to highlight the many different types and designs that are possible when remodeling your bathroom.  Note: The voice over on this video came from a recent client in the Northwest side of Columbus of whom we just completed work in her home.

Westerville, Ohio Bathroom Remodel – Pictures

We recently completed a Bathroom Remodel in Westerville Ohio.  Our Client did not use their tub very much at all and wanted a much larger shower.  Additionally, they desired to keep a large open feel to the bathroom.  There was water damage occurring in the ceiling of the garage over time and our client’s were not sure what was going on.  This water damage is also one reason that gave them the impetus to move forward on a bathroom remodel.   We enlarged the shower making use of some of the room taken up by the tub, as well as added more storage for linens.

We have not personally taken pictures of the bathroom as of yet, but the homeowner took a few before and after pictures and sent them to us and we put them into a short video below….

Bathroom Lighting Design Basics

Often times people ask me about lighting in bathrooms.  I believe the most important light(s) in the bathroom is the lighting at the vanity.  Most of the time we install some form of over-mirror, wall-mounted vanity light.  Typically it will have anywhere from 2 to 4 individual lights mounted on the bar.  The light bars that were often installed more than 15 years ago had a large row of bulbs that were not very aesthetic.  Today, most any lighting store has a very large array of options for wall-mounted vanity lights, plenty to suit most anyone’s taste.

Another form of lighting is accent lighting.  This is often used in shower areas in the form of recessed lighting.  This form of lighting in the shower brings a highlight to, for instance, a beautiful tile job that emphasizes a certain feel in the whole bathroom.  Recessed can lights can also be used for general purpose lighting in a bathroom, so they can serve a dual purpose.

General/area lighting can also be done with an included light within the ceiling exhaust fan. Panasonic Fans with lights are very well designed for this purpose. Below is a video I found recently that discusses these basic lighting ideas…

Worthington Ohio Bathroom Remodel: 3D Conceptual Render

Often times when there are changes taking place in a space that is going to be remodeled, particularly where the layout is changing, it is sometimes difficult to visualize.  This varies from project to project and from client to client.  Some people are naturally very visually-oriented people and other people (such as a recent client who is very left-brained and is a superb database designer) have difficulty with actually visualizing how the space will look.  I think that for everyone, generally speaking, the more complex the designchanges, the more difficult it is to visualize.

While many times a 3D render is not that important for a given project design, other times it can provide immense value.  Below is an example of a 3D conceptual Render of a Bathroom Remodeling Project in Worthington that we will be working on in July.  While we ultimately settled on a little bit different design than the concept below, the client provided us feedback as to how helpful it was to have this basic 3D view so she could see how tearing the left wall of the shower out, making the shower larger, and then building a knee wall (leaving the top of the left wall open) and filling in with Completely Frameless Glass.  It allowed her to meet with Denise Illes at The Tile Shop to work through the best solution – being able to be in the store examining tile ideas while looking at the newly proposed space layout (below)…
